OVERVIEW: We play to IRB rules without tackling, scrums or line-outs aka touch rugby (& we play advantage) but with some variations: (i) kicking allowed, (ii) One touch pass - within one step a touched player may immediately pass the ball to his team mates and play continues, (iii) a player may not score from his own kick through unless the ball does NOT touch the ground or another player touches it before the try is scored, (iv) the player who resets, eg after an infringement or post a 'touch', cannot score himself until the ball has been passed or kicked and another player has touched it. CLARIFICATIONS: (a) After 3 tags possession switches. If you elect to kick possession away and it touches an opposition player that is NOT a reset. (b) As per IRB rules, in general play, if a player catches a ball and is immediately tagged, that does not count as a tag. If however said player moves away from where they caught the ball and are then tagged, it does count. This rule does NOT apply when caught after KICK OFF or a 22 drop out - if kicked. (c) if tagged while diving to score a try, the try will count - if otherwise tagged in try zone, counts as a tag and reset to attacking team 5 yards away from try line ( unless the 3rd tag whereupon possession switches). Note: IMPORTANT - For 50/50 calls the defending team ALWAYS has the final say-so UNLESS it's a debate on a try (outside Clarification (c) above). In such instance we give the try unless foul play involved - marks for style encouraged and please replace all divets. =================== PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS ENDEAVOR IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ACCORDINGLY, BY SUCH PARTICIPATION, YOU AGREE THAT IN NO WAY ARE ANY OTHER PARTICIPANTS TO BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, LIABILITY OR DAMAGE, HOWSOEVER CAUSED. =================== (C) Sebastian Ainslie 2009 - 2025
